FOOTWEAR NEWS’ POWER 100

This week’s Footwear News post is about their “POWER 100.”

Coming in at #1 are our boys Phil Knight & Mark Parker.

FN reports…

Nike just keeps doing it. The Swoosh took the top spot again, even as 2011 presented challenges. Sourcing increases and higher air freight cost dinged earnings earlier in the year, and gross margins are still below year-ago levels. But Nike, led by Parker, 56, still saw first quarter earnings advance 19 percent to $645 million, and sales continue to rise. The brand has been in the public eye more, too. Knight, 73, made a rare public appearance on one of Oprah’s final shows,, and the firm went back to the future to release the most anti-cipated sneaker never made: the Nike Air Mags from “Back to the Future II.”
