1987 Vintage Nike Basketball Spanish Ad
I randomly stumbled upon this old Nike Basketball ad from 1987 announcing the
Nike Air Revolution basketball shoe. The ad says the following in Spanish:
“N.B.A. – Nike American Basketball (a play on the NBA). The show begins in the
air. Air Revolution is the sneaker specially designed for professional basketball
that introduces a revolutionary new technology: the SKI LOCK system that holds
the foot by its heel. The dynamic elastic tongue wraps the whole foot, subjecting
it to the sneaker. The result is super stability which allows for amazing dribbling
with absolute control. It’s 2 air chambers allows for 26% more shock absorption
than any other brand: Nike Air style. And if you like low top sneakers, you have
the Air Alpha. Air Revolution and Air Alpha. The show comes from the air.”
It’s funny how this ad says that shoe is designed for professional basketball as
opposed to what, normal basketball? It’s cool however that Nike was already
reaching out to the worldwide basketball market, especially in a country like
Spain where it’s a huge sport after soccer.
