Adidas and Arizona State University have unveiled their brand new Primeknit football uniforms for the upcoming 2015 college football season. The uniforms were developed by Adidas in collaboration with Sun Devil Athletics. The uniforms combine style with design and innovation to create an outstanding looking uniform that will provide elite performance. The new uniform was inspired by the team’s pitchfork logo and is featured on the helmet and pants. The shoulder pad design pays tribute to the logo by incorporating a pitchfork spike theme into the stripes. Arizona State is highlighted in bold, metallic colours across the jersey’s chest area and also features numbers and lettering that makes this uniform stand out. The letters and numbers used were created from a stretch material that is serrated, this allows for ventilation and flexibility. The uniform is made of Primeknit, a compression uniform system featuring Adidas TechFit technology that is made of a proprietary yard blend that increases durability and resistance. This cutting-edge technology allows for players to remain cool and allows them to perform at their highest levels. The players will have a better range of motion and the bodymap fit and the jersey’s padlock system makes it difficult for opponents to grab, hold or tackle.
“Our partnership with adidas and the uniforms they created for our program are game changers for Sun Devil Football and Arizona State. We pride ourselves on our speed and intensity on the field, and the technology behind these uniforms will allow us to maximize these strengths. They have a look that appeals to all of our fans, from the young Devils playing peewee football to our longtime season-ticket holders, and there are components that pay homage to community, show respect for our past, and honor the proud tradition of Arizona State University and our Sun Devil Football program,” Arizona State head football coach Todd Graham said.
The Sun Devils will have 3 jerseys, 4 pants, and 3 different helmets to make different combinations to look as sharp as possible when playing week in and week out. The Sun Devils will debut the new uniforms vs. the Texas A&M Aggies on September 5th at NRG Stadium in Houston. What do you think of the new uniforms? Did Adidas do a good job?
