Boston-based New Balance Athletics, Inc. announces the launch of the first global New Balance “Made” content series, “Made Mondays” – a live documentary series profiling the next generation of creators.
The first-of-its-kind, immersive narrative film concept is developed in collaboration with Oscar and Emmmy-winning RadicalMedia (“What Happened, Miss Simone?”, “Hamilton’s America”) and directed by filmmaker, Marcus Haney (“No Cameras Allowed”, Coldplay’s “A Head Full of Dreams”).
“Made Mondays” will debut on October 10th and broadcast in real time on four consecutive Mondays on Facebook Live via New Balance’s global channel. The series will feature creators who are using their curiosity, talent and passion to foster community, create new cultural spaces and influence public discourse. Haney will shoot the episodes using multiple cameras to capture the creators live during key moments in their process, generating an exciting, unscripted, candid environment.
“I’m incredibly excited about this project. Not only is it an opportunity to explore and engage with talented and passionate creators, but we’re broadcasting the experiences live – raw and real, no flowers, no frills”, said Director and Filmmaker, Marcus Haney.
“We’re always interested in exploring ways brands can create entertainment and how storytelling evolves across these emergent platforms,” said Radical Executive Producer, Joe Killian.
With five factories in New England and one in Flimby, UK, New Balance “Made” footwear are timeless classics executed in premium materials with distinct details that represent high-quality craftmanship, paying homage to New Balance’s history of domestic manufacturing. New Balance is currently the only major company to make or assemble more than 4 million pairs of athletic footwear per year in the U.S.
“Made Mondays” will live stream on October 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st – viewers can sign up for live broadcast notices by liking New Balance’s global Facebook page here as well as subscribing to live video notifications.
