Is it The Shoes? – November 25, 2012 Recap

In today’s edition of ‘It is The Shoes?’ we have a look a few newcomers to the series in Michael Beasley, Marcin Gortat, and the Hall of Fame bound Jason Kidd. While it wasn’t the most exciting day for NBA basketball or even the most exciting day for PE viewing we did get a glimpse of some nice Jordan Spiz’ike iDs from the Suns Beasley as well as another look at the Nets Gerald Wallace in the “Playoff” Air Jordan 12 Retro. As always, make sure to let us know what you think of today’s highlighted shoes and/or the games played on Sunday.
Jason Kidd took to the court Sunday in the New York Knicks game against the Detroit Pistons wearing a white/blue-orange Nike Lunar Hypergamer Low PE. Kidd contributed 6 pts – 5 rbs – 3 ast to the Knicks 9th win of the season.
Sunday’s game between the Boston Celitcs and Orlando Magic turned out to be a rather enjoyable game as it took an extra period to decided a winner. The Celtics came out victorious with the final score being 116-110. Rajon Rondo, as always, put up great numbers with 15 pts – 9 rbs – 16 ast; all while wearing a pair of “Cool Grey” Air Jordan Retro 9s.
Kevin Garnett also contributed to the Celtics win over the Magic on Sunday by adding 24 pts – 10 rbs – 1 ast of his own. While Garnett laced up the same “Away” colorway of his ANTA KG III we are all used to it is still nice to see a sneaker that isn’t from one of the major US companies hit a NBA floor.
As you can see today’s #IITS entry is dominated by Boston Celtics players as we give you yet another in Jason Terry. Jet normally wears player exclusive colorways of the Reebok Sublite Pro Rise but decided to switch them out Sunday for the recently released white/black Reebok Answer IV. Now the question we pose everyday; ‘Is it The Shoes?’ is more for fun than anything else but we can’t help but ask as Terry only put up 5 pts – 2 rbs – 3 ast Sunday.
As we mentioned in the opening of today’s #IITS we spotlight the footwear of the Phoenix Suns Michael Beasley. Although the Suns lost 104-101, Beasley broke out another Jordan Spiz’ike iD and recorded 21 pts – 1 rbs – 1 ast.
Marcin Gortat isn’t known for his choice of on-court footwear and the “Team Orange” Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Supreme he donned Sunday may not be the most amazing shoe in the world but it definitely looks great with the Suns uniforms. While Gortat may have looked great Sunday his stat line was rather mediocre as he put up 18 pts – 7 rbs – 2 ast in the Suns 8th loss of the season.
Once again we highlight the footwear of the Brooklyn Nets Gerald Wallace. Frankly, it is hard not to as the “Playoff” Air Jordan 12 Retro looks so great with the Nets new uniforms. Wallace’s footwear choice was definitely the highlight of his night, for us at least, as he only recorded 2 pts – 1 rbs – 0 ast in the Nets 98-85 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
