Last night was a rather interesting night in the NBA as San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, like he does from time to time, sat his three best players in Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili. Usually this is no big deal but on Thursday night it was huge as the Spurs were in Miami to take on the Miami Heat and other marquee players such as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. While no one I talked to seem to care as they understood the move was made based on the fact that the Spurs were playing in their fourth game in five nights and were on a six game road trip that had them traveling for nine days, visiting two countries, and playing in six different cities the commissioner of the NBA, David Stern, took exception to the move and even felt it was necessary to issue a statement before the game’s tip-off.

Statement by David Stern:
“I apologize to all NBA fans. This was an unacceptable decision by the San Antonio Spurs and substantial sanctions will be forthcoming.”

While David Stern’s statement comes to no surprise to me as this is what I have come to expect from the commissioner one thing did; the game itself. The Miami Heat had their hands full with Spurs roll players like Boris Diaw, Nando De Colo, and Patty Mills and it took a late 12-3 run for Miami to claim the 105-100 victory. Now, we aren’t going to imply that it was the Air Jordan 2012 Lite PEs on the feet of Ray Allen, who hit a huge 3 pointer down the stretch, or the Nike LeBron Ambassador Vs and Nike LeBron X PEs on the feet of LeBron James, who almost recored a triple-double, but we will pose the question to you and encourage you to let us know your opinion, via the comments section below or Twitter, on the game and/or the footwear highlighted below.

Dwyane Wade wore a Li-Ning Way of Wade PE and recorded 19 pts – 5 rbs – 5 ast on Thursday.

Rashard Lewis wore a Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2012 PE and recorded 3 pts – 3 rbs – 1 ast on Thursday.

LeBron James wore a white/black-red Nike LeBron Ambassador V, in addition to a Nike LeBron X PE, and recorded 23 pts – 9 rbs – 7 ast on Thursday.

Ray Allen wore an Air Jordan 2012 Lite PE and recorded 20 pts – 0 rbs – 1 ast on Thursday.

Mario Chalmers wore a Spalding Threat PE and recorded 8 pts – 1 rbs – 4 ast on Thursday.
